Art Work by Jugal Patel

I was recently looking at the art work of Jugal Patel. He is a photography based artist  who also incorperates sculpture into his work in the form of framse that art a part of the photograph.

Jugal is a graduate from the Engineering School at the University of Kansas and has no real formal art training. You can read more from his Bio on his web site, www.jugalpatel.com

I find this unique style of wall art and wall sculpture fascinating. The lines added by the sculptural part of the works makes the pictures seem to come off the wall and become part of the room they are in.

Art Forums.co.uk

I was recently made aware of a great forum for artists. The forum is called ArtForums.co.uk

Not only are the people there really nice and supportive they also have loads of valuable information and critiques.

Artists can go on and share their most recent works with other members in several mediums including painting, drawing, pastels, photography and any other medium you are interested in.

One of my favorite boards on this site is the Art video board. Here you can watch educational videos about how to make a paint brush, how to paint with acrylics and more.

This great site is based in the UK but still can be of great use to us here in the United States, with it's abundance of information this forum is a must for artists of all types.

In this piece I used images of the Rocky Mountains, two of my clients' favorite breeds, and a book to create a fanciful image of the two dogs (a beagle and doberman pincher) traveling on a book.

I really enjoyed doing this gig for a the people who have purchased it so far. As an artist I will sometimes feel as if I am in a creativity rut, kind of a writers block for artists. This exercise helps me open my mind to new creative ideas.

125 Show Acceptance!

Great news everybody! May painting, "M&M Machine", was accepted into the Plano art association's 125 Show! 

The show will be held at  Collin College, in the art gallery 

March 21- April 11

Reception and Awards will be 

March 28
